Success Story: well:fair foundation (Neven Subotic Stiftung)

What began in 2012 as a one-man foundation, Neven Subotic has been able to establish over the last 10 years as an established non-profit foundation with numerous volunteers and almost 30,000 donors in Germany.

The well:fair foundation – so far known as the Neven Subotic Foundation – campaigns for the human right to drinking water, sanitation and better hygiene conditions in the East African project regions of Ethiopia, Kenya and Tanzania.

The donations are invested 100% in the projects on site and in the development of facilities and know-how. In order to keep track of such a large number of helpful donors and donations and to really be able to spend the available time on their great idealistic task, Neven Subotic, head and board member of the foundation, has decided to use millio.

He told us in a short interview what experiences Neven has had so far with the Salesforce online banking app and what advantages millio offers him and his foundation work.

Neven, what was the initial situation before millio?

We had a custom-built solution to organise the retrieval of our bank data. We had to enrich this data afterwards, check it and transfer it to Salesforce. This was not a problem for a few data, but we quickly reached our limits and there was always the risk of data inconsistencies, as we were working with two information sources in parallel.

We then became aware of millio through a recommendation.

How did you feel when you first started using millio?

The installation and the introduction to the use of millio are very well documented. The app itself is also intuitively designed and based on the Salesforce layout. It was therefore quite easy to find my way around the app. The extensive test phase was also helpful.

What do you particularly like about millio or what convinced you to use millio?

An enormous advantage of millio is that the bank data can be found directly in Salesforce and thus one has a "source of truth" as far as financial data is concerned.

The handling is intuitive, everything is well documented and donations are automatically allocated and processed without any frustration.

The time saved with the app is enormous. What previously took too long, such as sifting and checking data, has been automated. So what previously took us up to two to three hours a week, I can now do in twenty minutes a week.

The further potential of the app is also huge, as there is the option of direct debit.

You can say: the app simply works.

What has changed for you and your foundation through millio?

For one thing, the app is an enormous asset in terms of saving time. And that is for everyone in the team. It also often makes collaboration easier, as everyone has access to the information they need. Furthermore, the app almost completely eliminates human error.

What advice would you give to sceptics interested in millio?

If we, as a relatively small foundation with ten people, can use the app successfully, larger companies can do the same. The advantage of the app is universal and millio offers a lot of potential. Anyone who is unsure should simply test the app for free, that was enormously helpful for us.

Would you recommend millio and if so, to whom?

Anyone who works with bank data and wants to do something with it, such as allocations, millio is relevant for them. I am a very satisfied customer, also because the service has always been outstanding. I can absolutely recommend millio.
